Eligibility Requirements
This program is open to undergraduate students in any major. To be eligible, students must meet the following minimum requirements before departure:
- a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above.
- have at least 45 credits (freshman year complete).
- at least 1 year of college-level French language or 1 year of college-level Arabic language or equivalent.
Students must also make satisfactory academic progress throughout the application process and their study abroad program, and otherwise comply with policies and procedures of the host university, the UO and Study Abroad Programs.

Application Process
Students interested in applying to the Tunisia program are strongly advised to meet with a Study Abroad program coordinator prior to applying.
Early application is advised. Selection for the program is based on a review of the student's written application, transcripts, recommendations and two personal interviews. Qualified applicants are recommended by a UO Study Abroad Program Coordinator. The final selection of participants is made by the resident directors at Oregon State University, after the second personal interview.

Tunisia application

- Application Forms (original and one copy)
- Two Essays (original and one copy)
- $50 check or money order made payable to Oregon State University
- UO Disciplinary Clearance Form
- Two Reference Forms
- Official transcript(s)
A $50 application fee is due at the time the application is submitted and is non-refundable under any circumstances.
Selection and Participation
Participants must meet the eligibility requirements for their chosen program, and be prepared linguistically, academically, and socially to succeed abroad. Study abroad participants must satisfactorily complete the following:
- well-written program application.
- personal interview.
- timely submission of required paperwork.
- attendance at pre-departure orientation sessions.
- payment of program fees.
Program participants must also demonstrate the ability to be successful overseas through evidence of maturity, motivation, and flexibility, and such other characteristics as Study Abroad Programs may deem relevant or appropriate. Participation in any program is subject to the approval of International Affairs and its partner institutions, which may grant or withhold such approval in their sole discretion.
Visa Information
U.S. nationals do not require a visa for stays up to four months in Tunisia. Program participants who are not U.S. nationals should consult with the Tunisian Embassy or closest Tunisian Consulate to determine the visa requirements for their country of residence.
Please note that visa regulations and policies change frequently.
All students should apply for or renew (if necessary) their U.S. (or other) passports as soon as possible.
Orientations
All students are required to participate in an OSU pre-departure orientation. Orientation dates will be provided during the personal interview.
In addition, all UO study abroad participants are required to complete a general Blackboard orientation. More information regarding the orientation process will be emailed to students.
The orientations will cover administrative logistics, travel, health, safety, conduct, housing and cultural adjustment.
