Robert Hilts
Köln (Cologne), Germany 1979-1980. (West Germany at the time)

Spent all three terms of my Junior year in Germany. Lived in Pulheim (near Köln) with the same family all three terms. Married to Melinda Hilts for going on 19 years now, Daughter Amanda (17 - soon to be a Duck (I think)), Robert Jr. (14) and Steven (5). I am a Sr. I.S. Manager for Fred Meyer Stores, Inc. (Div. of Kroger Co.) (13 years). When not working we spend a lot of time with kid's activities and sports. Also like to camp and travel - seems we are never sitting still. Amanda will probably look into Study Abroad Program - follow in her father’s footsteps.

Since graduation in the Spring of 1984, I have remained single, lived in eight different cities, five different states, and have worked in Television News for the past 22 years as a TV Photographer/Editor. Currently, I am working at KOMO-TV in Seattle, Washington, and I have also started up my own small business called Hoppy Visual Production, www.hoppyvisualproduction.net.

Jody and I met while in school in Avignon. It started as a close frienship which matured into marriage. We now have two daughters. Jody has her own fine art consulting business, and I work in banking.

Since November 2005, I've been doing public relations part-time at Hopelink, a non-profit social services agency helping low-income people in north and east King County. It's a welcome change from marketing full-time at a Big Four public accounting firm, which I had been doing since 1992.

I moved from Portland, OR to the San Francisco Bay Area shortly after graduation and never left. I've been a Human Resources professional for the past 20+ years, spending 16 with Chevron before moving on to the non-profit world. I am currently the HR Director at Sunny Hills Services in Marin County which serves severly emothionally disturbed children. I am married with a wonderful dog named Yuba.

After many years in Bend, OR, my wife and I moved to Olympia, WA where I now have a position as the Executive Director of Marketing, Communications and College Relations for the Evergreen State College. We still enjoy international travel.
