After graduation, I spent six years away from Eugene, part of that time in Madrid, part of it in Portland where I worked as a Spanish interpreter and got my master’s from Western Seminary in intercultural studies. From there I spent a year in Puebla, Mexico, before returning to Eugene. In 2004, I returned to the UO for one year to complete my certification in second language acquisition and teaching. Most recently, I have been working again as a freelance Spanish interpreter, locally around town and also, via telephone from my home, to points all over the country and sometimes beyond. Also, I have been teaching Spanish to adults part time at Lane Community College. I still make regular trips to Mexico. Plans on tap for the forseeable future include teaching Spanish to elementary age kids at a private school, a possible trip to Bolivia in Summer 2007 and passing the State of Oregon's examination for a credential to interpret in the court system.
