Heather Bremner
Lyon, France (1998-1999)

My boyfriend of nearly four years recently proposed, so we're in the midst of planning a wedding and aiming for April. After graduation I worked in DC for a senator and then spent three years at a paper in Southern California, where I met my fiance who is also a reporter. I now cover the education beat at the Gilroy Dispatch down here in California and live in Morgan Hill. I'd love to hear from anyone from the Lyon crowd!

Maren (Masters) Chen
Poitiers, France (1998-1999)

After graduation, I moved to Salt Lake City, UT, and attended graduate school at the University of Utah. I graduated with a degree in languages and literature (emphasis in French), as well as receiving my TESOL certificate. I returned to France in 2002, where I spent four months in the small northern town of Laon, teaching English conversation classes at a local high school. I then returned to Utah and began teaching ESL. Eventually I stopped teaching, and began working as an administrative analyst at Select Portfolio Servicing (a mortgage company). I have been married since February of 2005. My husband and I enjoy traveling, and together we have traveled to Hawaii, Australia, and New York. We are excitedly expecting our first child next spring.

Korene Pearson
Kings College, Aberdeen, Scotland (1998-1999)

It is hard to believe that it has been eight years since that fall I headed for Aberdeen! I still consider it to have been one of the best choices I ever made and one of the best adventures in my life. It was a wonderful experience that, while sometimes difficult, gave me a different perspective of myself, our American culture and our cultural persepective. I am still in touch via email with some of the people I met and roomed with while in Scotland. I have a lot pf pictures too! An interesting side note; One of my Scottish flatmates came to the U of O for her year abroad in 2000-2001 while I was in Maryland -- we met up in Washington DC at the Smithsonian when she took a vacation trip! I went on another adventure to Maryland to get a master's degree in thanatology and am currently back in the area looking for my next adventure!
