Summer: June 15 to August 2, 2008
Fall Semester: mid-August to mid-December
Spring Semester: mid-January to mid-May

Accommodations
All SIT participants will be assigned housing with a homestay family that has been carefully screened and selected by a local SIT Study Abroad homestay coordinator. Many SIT programs offer more than one homestay, sometimes in both urban and rural areas. Brief rural homestays, particularly in developing countries, may expose students to settings with basic living conditions, frequently without electricity and running water.
When not living with homestay families, students stay in lodgings chosen under the guidance of the academic director. Accommodations may include guesthouses, educational institutions, hostels, or small hotels, depending on local conditions and customs.
Insurance
All students on this program are enrolled in a mandatory health and accident insurance plan through SIT.
For more information about the insurance coverage, please go to: www.worldlearning.org/2521.htm

Using Your Financial Aid Abroad
Summer
During the summer, loans are generally the only type of aid available to students studying abroad and students should be aware that they may need to supplement their standard financial aid package. Summer financial aid applications are available beginning April 1 and must be submitted to the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships by May 1. Early application is strongly advised.
