Academic Calendar

Dates for 2007-08 are as follows:

Fall Semester:   July 16 to December 10, 2007
Spring Semester:   February 25 to July 19, 2008
Calendar Year:   late February to mid-December

The schedule for 2008-09 will be available at the CIEE website early in 2008.

Accommodations

Students live with Chilean host families, many of which are located in Viña del Mar and some of which are in Valparaíso. Housing and three meals a day are included in the program fee, except during the orientation period in Santiago when two meals per day are included.

Academic year students are responsible for housing and meals during the break between semesters.

Insurance

All students on this program are enrolled in a mandatory health and accident insurance plan. A complete description of the benefits and basic provisions of the insurance policy is included with participant acceptance materials.

Scholarship Opportunities

CIEE scholarships are available only to CIEE program participants. These grants ranging from $500 to $1,000 (Bowman, Bailey, Ritzmann, ISP) and are awarded each year to students who demonstrate both academic excellence and financial need. The awards are applied directly to the applicant's CIEE program fee. For more information and application materials, visit www.ciee.org/study/scholarships.aspx or contact Study Abroad Programs.
