Academic Calendar

Approximate dates for 2008-09 are as follows:

Fall Semester:   August 23 to December 22, 2008
Spring Semester:   January 2 to May 16, 2009

Dates for 2009-10 should be available during spring term.

Accommodations

Students can choose to live with a host family or at GAIAS. Although students have the option of living at the GAIAS dorms, they are strongly encouraged to live with a host family in order to improve their Spanish and integrate more fully into the local community. Students who live at GAIAS live in shared dormitories. There are two dorms, one which accommodates 6 students, and a second which accommodates 8. The GAIAS facilities are approximately a 7-minute walk from downtown, overlooking the bay at Playa Mann.

Insurance

All students on this program are enrolled in a mandatory health and accident insurance plan. Information regarding comprehensive insurance will be provided during the OUS orientation.
