Academic Calendar

Approximate dates for 2007-08 are as follows (dates for 2008-09 will be similar):

PUCE:

Fall term:  August 21 to December 23, 2007 - Intensive Spanish program only.
Fall semester:  August 21, 2007 to January 20, 2008
Spring semester:  January 5 to June 25, 2008

USFQ:

Fall semester:  August 25 to December 22, 2007
Spring semester:  January 6 to May 20, 2008

Accommodations

Students live with local Ecuadorian host families. Living with a family exposes students to daily life in Quito as well as to improving and developing Spanish language skills. Host families are carefully selected and are in frequent communication with the Resident Director.  Students remaining on the program for the academic year have the option of living independently after their first term.

Insurance

All students on this program are enrolled in a mandatory health and accident insurance plan.  Information regarding comprehensive insurance will be provided during the OUS orientation.

Note: UO Students will be charged a $300 per UO term Study Abroad Fee. This fee will be charged to the student's UO account at the beginning of each UO term. Students will also be charged their UO major resource fees.

Information regarding payment schedule and refund policy will be provided during the OUS orientation.

UO Financial Aid

Although most forms of UO financial aid may be applied to program costs, students should be aware that they may need to supplement their standard financial aid package. All students using UO financial aid should download the attached instructions.
