Location

Founded more than 400 years ago on the skirts of East Sierra Madre, Monterrey is the third largest city in Mexico and a busy manufacturing, banking, and education center. It is unanimously regarded as "the Industrial Capital of Mexico" for its ongoing contributions to national development. The city also provides numerous choices of outdoor extra-curricular activities, and can fulfill high expectations in sports such as mountain climbing, cross-country cycling, and bullfighting to name a few. It also has a variety of nightspots for different preferences.

With over 90,000 students on 33 different campuses, the ITESM, also called the “Tec,” comprises Mexico’s largest and most diversified private university system. The Monterrey campus designated as an exchange partner with the Oregon University System offers Spanish language coursework at all levels as well as culture courses, business in Latin America, and a range of area studies courses. The campus has a diverse student population, with more than 60% of the students coming from other states in Mexico, and from Central and South America.

Opportunities may be available to study in Cuernavaca or Guadalajara. Interested students should contact Hilary Lord.
