Academic Program
The Querétaro programs aim at giving you first hand knowledge of the culture and language. Students develop communicative competence in Spanish through courses taught by experienced Mexican instructors. The curriculum is guided and approved by the University of Oregon Department of Romance Languages. In addition, there are out of class exercises involving communication with Mexican people in their everyday activities. Qualified faculty from the UO or other participating universities or an Interamerican University Studies Institute (IUSI) staff member serves as program Resident Director. The 16-week spring and fall Mexican Studies programs, held at the Universidad Autónoma de Querétaro, provide additional options for the study of Mexican culture. The UAQ also hosts the spring term Intensive Spanish program and one or more of the 5-, 6-, or 12-week summer sessions.
