The Oregon University System program at the Central University for Nationalities, a university that focuses humanities and ethnic studies, provides opportunities for University of Oregon students to study Chinese language and culture. The OUS program at CUN has run for over ten years and highlights language acquisition as well as cultural studies. One of the trademarks of this program is the 12-day study tour taken early each semester. The study tour takes participants to villages and rural communities where students can learn first hand about the daily lives of minority cultures in China as well as the Han majority.

Highlights:

  • Get 15 credits for the fall semester or 24 credits for the winter/spring semester of Chinese language.
  • Engage in the learning about the cultures of China through the 3 or 4 credit culture course.
  • Experience first-hand rural life in China during the 12-day study tour.
  • Study at CUN for the fall semester, winter/spring semester or academic year.
  • Internship opportunities complement this program—check out IE3 Global Internship options.

Much of the information in this web site has been provided by OUS International Programs.  The Oregon University System International Programs are cooperative programs to which all students in public and private universities in Oregon have access.  The programs are predominately reciprocal exchanges that bring students to Oregon campuses.  It is through these direct relationships that students and faculty connect with partner institutions abroad and bring diversity to Oregon universities.
