The CIEE program opportunities in Shanghai, China are aimed to engage students with China in three different areas: global studies, business in China, and intensive Mandarin. The dynamic city of Shanghai, the home of 18 million people, is the country’s financial and industrial capital and an ideal location for all three program opportunities. Students enjoy excursions and can experience daily life in China with Chinese students or with host families.

Highlights:

  • Comprehensive Mandarin language programs for beginner to advanced students.
  • Global studies program with English-language courses in international affairs, Chinese politics, economics, history, and society.
  • Business program with English-language courses in Chinese business, marketing, economics, and international relations.
  • Eight-week summer intensive Mandarin language program for beginner to advanced students.
  • Immersion in the local community by living with a Chinese roommate or a Chinese family.
