 |
The goals of this program are threefold: to provide students with a solid foundation in economics, sociology, history, and literature related to Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos through academic coursework taught in English; to provide each student with innovative Vietnamese language training in small classes with teachers trained to teach Vietnamese as a second language; and immersion into the local community by offering a unique set of housing options and group excursions throughout Vietnam.
|
Highlights:
- Up-close investigation of pressing development issues such as human trafficking, HIV/AIDS, and the impact of a booming tourist industry on the local environment.
- Regionally integrative perspectives on the countries of former French Indochina: Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam.
- In-depth course-related excursion throughout Vietnam.
- Four to five week course modules: Hanoi (fall) and Siem Reap, Cambodia (spring).
