The Angers program is ideal for University of Oregon undergraduate students interested in French life and culture, and particularly for students currently enrolled in first through third-year French language classes.  The program allows for rapid progress in the UO French language sequence.

Highlights:

  • The Angers program allows UO undergraduate students to experience life in Angers and France in intensive programs ranging from four weeks (summer) to eighteen weeks (spring semester).
  • All students take a main "langue" (French language) class.
  • Fall and spring students also elect one or more additional classes, mostly in French (FR), but with scattered offerings in other fields of study.
  • Classes are taught at the facilities of CIDEF, the French language institute of the Catholic University of the West.
  • Fall and spring participants live with French host families throughout Angers and the surrounding area, and summer students choose from a home-stay or a residence hall option.
  • Angers is a beautiful, culturally rich city in the Angou region of France--where the locals argue that the most "authentic" French is spoken.
