CIEE – Transylvania

The goal of the Transylvania program is to provide students with a first-hand experience of coexisting traditional cultures trying to meet the challenges of the 21st century. The program exposes students to the unique history, religious life, and folk are of multi-ethnic Transylvania through its architecture, cultural heritage, and traditional customs. Students will be able to discuss critical periods of Transylvanian history; identify major geographical regions and religions of Transylvania; discuss major ethnic groups of Transylvania; and value multi-ethnic coexistence.

Highlights:
- Travel through mountain villages, valleys, and forests staying with local families and learning about one of Europe's most ethnically diverse regions.
- Enjoy three weeks of instruction, with an intensive program of lectures, site visits, and daily excursions.
- Gain first-hand knowledge about the culture and history of Transylvania.
- Begin and end your adventure in Budapest, Hungary.
