The goals of the Liberal Arts program are to enable undergraduate students to develop their ability to communicate in Italian through intensive language instruction, and through study of contemporary and historical Italy in content courses taught in Italian.

Highlights:
- The Ferrara Liberal Arts program is ideal for UO students with at least two years of Italian language study completed.
- During Fall 2008, UO Professor Massimo Lollini will lead a group of UO students and teach a 300/400 level course.
- Highly effective and innovative Italian language teaching.
- Opportunity to speak Italian every day in a true immersion environment.
- Excursions to cultural attractions in the renaissance city of Ferrara.
- Field trips to nearby cities such as Florence, Bologna, Siena, Pisa, Ravenna, Verona, and Padua.
