The Pavia program provides University of Oregon students an opportunity to enroll directly in courses taught in Italian at the University of Pavia, Italy. The program is most ideal for undergraduate and graduate students of Italian and/or Romance Languages, but it is open to students in many fields of the humanities, natural and social sciences, who are interested in an immersion experience in Italy and have the appropriate background in Italian language. The program is limited to a maximum of two UO participants per year.

Highlights:
- The University of Pavia is perhaps the oldest institution of higher education partnered with the UO, dating from the year 825.
- Pavia organizes its courses into two semesters, each further divided into two periods, with some courses lasting only one period, and others spanning the full semester or the full academic year.
- One of the participants each year is also admitted by the prestigious Collegio Ghislieri and housed in the Collegio's 16th century building, in a large single suite.
- Located just minutes from Milan, and less than half a day's travel by train from Rome, Venice, Austria, Switzerland, and southwestern France, Pavia is an ideal location for exploring Italy and Europe.
