Business & Society
The program offers students at the advanced language level the opportunity to solidify their Spanish language skills while gaining an understanding economic and business management in Spain and the European Union through a combination of coursework, related lectures, internships, and company visits. In addition, students have the opportunity to directly enroll in regular university courses.
During the first three weeks, students take one intensive language course designed specially for students of business. During the remainder of the semester, students enroll in four courses in business, humanities, and Spanish language. Depending on the language placement results, students with lower language levels may be required to take Advanced Spanish Business Writing.
All courses are taught in Spanish.

International Business & Culture
The program is appropriate for students with beginning to intermediate language skills who wish to improve their Spanish language skills while taking courses in English, primarily in the field of international business.
Students take one intensive language course for the first three weeks of the program and four more classes during the semester, including one language class, the required CIEE core courses, Managing Cultural Diversity, and two additional courses from the UPO courses for international students.

Language & Society
The program is appropriate for intermediate level language students who want to see a marked improvement in their language skills while gaining an understanding of Spanish culture. Coursework combines intensive language and content courses.
Students take one intensive Spanish course for the first three weeks of the program and four more classes during the semester, including two language classes and two content courses.
All courses are taught in Spanish.

Liberal Arts
The program is designed for students at the advanced level to improve their spoken and written Spanish while pursing coursework in a variety of subjects. In addition to a range of courses offered by CIEE, students can also choose to directly enroll in a Universidad de Sevilla or Universidad Pablo de Olavide course.
Students take one intensive course for the first three weeks of the program and four more courses during the semester from CIEE Study Center courses, Cursos para Extranjeros, and regular university classes at the Universidad de Sevilla and UPO.
All courses are taught in Spanish.

Advanced Liberal Arts
The program is appropriate for students with advanced Spanish language skills and a strong academic background. Students take the majority of their classes with Spanish students at the Universidad de Sevilla and/or the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, supplemented by a variety of courses offered by CIEE.
Students take one intensive course for the first three weeks of the program and four more courses during the semester three must be from the Universidad de Sevilla and UPO course offerings and the fourth course may be taken from the CIEE Study Center.
All courses are taught in Spanish.

Summer Program: Language & Culture
The Language and Culture program focuses on two interwoven areas: Spanish language and Spanish culture and history. Special emphasis is placed on Andalusia and its capital, within a European context.
Students choose one language or content course per session. Some content classes are offered in English and some in Spanish. Students who wish to take content courses in Spanish must have completed two years of college-level Spanish or the equivalent and score at least a 60 on the online placement exam.

As part of each program, excursions are organized to historic and cultural sites in and around Seville.
Center Director
Dr. Maritheresa Frain, with a Ph.D. from Georgetown University, is the Director for all CIEE programs in Seville.
Registration and Credits
Students participating in this program will be registered at the University of Oregon and will receive UO credits for courses taken in Seville. The student’s course work will be reviewed and evaluated by appropriate academic departments at the UO. Students must keep detailed records of course outlines, reading lists, exam results, and other work completed to facilitate accurate evaluation by the academic departments at the UO.
Students are responsible for making sure that the courses they plan to take in Seville will meet major and minor requirements. Students are advised to consult with their academic advisor about their plans to study in the Spain program.

Only those courses that have been taken by UO students in the last seven years are listed on the equivalency sheet. Courses that do not appear on this sheet will need to be approved for UO credit.
