¡Ahora Si! is a bilingual Spanish radio show that airs Sunday nights from 8:30 pm to 2:00 am on 87.7 FM, KLCC. Listening to the show is a great way to continue developing your Spanish language skills.

Birth to Three is a non.profit that focuses on parental education and support, to provide for the wellbeing of children and to strengthen families. Volunteers assist with the classes for Spanish.speaking families and provide Spanish–English translation work.

Being an ISO leader would consist of helping a group of students make their transition into UO life by giving campus tours, accompanying them to various orientation workshops, and just being a friend and general adviser. ISO occurs the two weeks right before classes start in September. You can even receive upper division credits for participating as a leader.

CISCAP works for peace, justice, and an end to military intervention in Central America, Cuba, and Mexico. Volunteers have many opportunities and can work as many or as few hours as they like. Some of the opportunities include: staffing information tables, helping out in the office, leafleting, organizing fundraising events, researching specific country issues and more.

Eugene has four sister cities: Chinju, Korea; Kakagawa, Japan; Kathmandu, Nepal; and Irkutsk, Russia. The different specific committees (i.e., for each city relationship) have different opportunities available.

Holt facilitates international adoption and children's services in many parts of the world. They have many unpaid internship/volunteer positions in areas such as: conference organizing, social services finance, fundraising, legal, public relations, and executive operations. A nonprofit organization that facilitates travel and educational exchange for people with disabilities. Interns work on newsletters and publications, public relations, program development, research, and funding. Requirements: Must be at least a college sophomore, have an interest in people with disabilities, cross.cultural understanding, good writing skills and ability to work alone and in groups. Desired: Experience, graduate students, technical (computer) skills. Persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.

SMART volunteers help children become confident and enthusiastic readers who can read at or above grade level by the time they leave elementary school. Volunteers give a minimum of one hour per week to help two children for 30 minutes each. Volunteers who speak other languages are desired.

White Lotus buys and sells Asian art. Interns must have a background in art and/or art history, experience in Asia, and must be flexible in providing assistance to small staff and gallery. Gallery owned and operated by a UO graduate.

The South Eugene IHS welcomes students who have strong French, German, or Spanish skills as classroom assistants and tutors with foreign language classes. Volunteers must be able to relate to high school students and come to the school once or twice a week on a regular schedule. Check with your advisor for UO credit possibilities.

The Literacy Council of Eugene - Springfield:

Conducts English as a second language (ESL) workshops and tutoring sessions. Courses are taught in English only, and students with foreign language skills are often placed with students speaking a different language. Most appropriate for people who want a cultural exchange, rather than a chance to practice their language skills. Council requires a six.month minimum commitment, and students must be able to participate at least three hours weekly. Unpaid.

Assists clients in improving business contacts in Latin America through verbal interpreting, translation, training, evaluation, and planning. Interns should have skills in accounting, public relations, general business, and/or communication. Reliability is important.

Willamette Valley Folk Festival:
